Tucked along the river banks of Koyna and Krishna, the town of Kanad is located in Maharastra. The town has significance because its broad 'T' shaped convergence of Koyna and Krishna rivers. Popular known as the 'Sugar Bowl of Maharastra', Karad falls in the district of Satara. The original name of the town is Karhatak.
